Sep 23, 2016: SC notices to Lalu’s son for allegedly sheltering accused. The Supreme Court on Friday sought a response from Bihar Health Minister Tej Pratap Yadav and criminal-turned-politician Mohamed Shahabuddin as to why an FIR can’t be filed in opposition to them for allegedly sheltering an accused in journalist Rajdev Ranjan’s homicide.

Nagappan sought a response from Yadav – son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad – on a petition by Asha Ranjan, the widow of the late journalist. She sought a FIR towards the 2 men as SC notices to Lalu’s son for allegedly sheltering accused.


Whereas asking the Bihar Police to supply safety to Asha Ranjan and her family, the bench requested the CBI – which is probing the case – to file a standing report on its investigation on October 17.


On a plea by Asha Ranjan looking for the switch of the trial from Bihar to Delhi, the bench issued notice to the Bihar government searching for its response when SC notices to Lalu’s son for allegedly sheltering accused.
