The Indian Army, the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Border Security Force (BSF) had been placed on excessive alert in Punjab and neighbouring states to counter any escalation of the state of affairs following the surgical strike throughout the Line of Control (LoC), sources stated on Friday.
