Modi chairs CCS assembly on LoC state of affairs

New Delhi, Sep 29, 2016: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday chaired a gathering of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to debate the scenario on the Line of Control (LOC).

The assembly was held after the Pakistani Army on Thursday violated the ceasefire settlement and resorted to indiscriminate firing at Indian positions alongside the LoC in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

India had on Tuesday introduced that it was pulling out of the Saarc summit scheduled to be held in Islamabad in November after the September 18 cross-border terror assault on an Indian Military base in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir that claimed the lives of 18 Indian soldiers.
